Recycled Polymers For Rotational Moulding

The use of recycled polymers in rotational moulding has gained significant momentum as manufacturers seek to reduce environmental impact, lower material costs, and comply with increasingly stringent sustainability requirements. Although rotational moulding has traditionally relied on virgin polyethylene (PE) due to its predictable thermal behaviour and excellent sintering characteristics, advances in polymer recycling, filtration, and compounding technologies have made high‑quality recycled materials a viable option for a growing range of applications.

Recycled polymers introduce new variables into the process—such as broader molecular‑weight distributions, potential contamination, and variable thermal stability—that must be carefully managed to ensure consistent part performance. When properly selected and processed, however, recycled materials can deliver mechanically robust, cost‑effective, and environmentally responsible rotomoulded products.
